Sound Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (SASTM)

Sound Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization is a treatment practice that addresses the body’s soft tissues, which include skin, fascia, muscles, tendons, and ligaments.

SASTM utilizes specialized instruments that help the physical therapist identify adhesions, fibrosis, fascial restrictions, scar tissue, trigger points, acupoints, and many other soft tissue abnormalities. Once any of these abnormalities have been identified, a skilled clinician can use the instruments effectively to “break-up” the soft tissue anomalies and allow the body to absorb the waste product.

From there, a skilled physical therapist can guide the patient through the stages of healing to achieve optimum functional ability.
